April 11, 1978Dear Franny:

I had a talk with our new Director, Martin Biddle, about our Cyprus publication project the other day. He is a very wonderful man whom I warmly appreciate. It was evident that he would do all he could to promote the work of our few remaining authors. He wanted me to express this feeling to them and also to make it clear that he would like to see their publications put forth by the Museum in our own monographs (probably not like the preceding but better) rather than farmed out elsewhere.

Would you not like to review your situation and let me know both what we can plan on and what we might do for you about Emoyennis? I have not been in touch with your situation for some time. I might add the thought that I personally would like to be able to help put you through while I am still on active duty. I expect to retire on June 30, 1980. It would be good to have completed the Cyprus publication project by then.

Cordial greetings -
