Dear David:

It was a great pleasure to meet you and to discuss matters with you here. It would be wonderful to have you on our staff and I certainly hope it works out. Many thanks for sending the proof of your article. I made a xerox of it and sent it on to the others as you requested. I shall be interested to see subsequent instalments also and to learn what further developments occur in the Tholos.

I have put in orders for you as follows:

8 x 10" prints of the two temple sunprints 18 x 10 copy print of the two prints which interested you 1 print of the side of the seal with the man & palm tree, twice actual size

I think probably these will be delivered some time in June.

You asked for any photographs of the Temple and of the West Building in the 30's. Of the West Building I find only 2 (you recall that the most pertinent negatives and prints were missing, destroyed in the war). For the Temple I found a great many, including a good number with fallen blocks. The blocks on some prints were numbered with Greek letters and Arabic numerals and I found the numbering system in one of Mr. Hill's notebooks along with some comments. I propose to order for you copy prints as follows:

1.The two West Building prints

2.A selection of 55 Temple prints (I have deleted only ones which did not seem to be architectural)

3.Four double pages of Mr. Hill's notebook

I enclose a list by film nos. of the prints of the Temple and the West Building which I have selected for you. I also enclose xeroxes of the film lists so you can see what they are. It has seemed well to give you an idea of the cost of all your photography before proceeding with the bulk of it. As follows:
