March 8, 1979Dear David:

Thank you for your estimates for your 1980/81 budget. I will keep them on hand for November. I will probably check with you again at that time approaches.

I have gotten out the volume of the corpus of Tunisian mosaics and have consulted with Alan Cook, who is in charge of publications, about your enquiry. We have no objections to your using this format. It seems perfectly normal: text, photographic plates, and drawings. We wonder a bit why you felt you had to enquire. I mean, there seems nothing abnormal in their format: unless something escaped us, of course. The only things we saw which might bother us are the excessively wide margins in the text which serve no evident purpose, and the excessively tight gutters which make it difficult to read. I don't think we can condone this in our publication. Fold outs (of which I don't suppose you would have more than a few at most) are taken in stride here.

With good wishes for your activities -

Sincerely,
