Paphos 5 March '73

Dear Roger.

Many thanks for your letter of Feb. 16 and the Xeroses of pages of the Fales notebooks.

I have not had a chance to study these quietly until we got a bit settled in our new hide-out here. Although it is not all crystal clear there is no doubt that a coin of Theodosius II was found under one of the mosaics that was lifted in 1949. It does not matter at present which of the rooms he designated "O", the one where this + other coins were found under its mosaic floor; because the whole of the floor decoration seems of one piece. As far as I am concerned in the present context, this is "chapter and verse". I am most grateful.

This is a flying visit, to get some more raw material for my communication, and to make some headway in organising our little house and the garden we are trying to make. We have just unpacked a crate of things we had in our St Hilarion cottage, which after a sojourn in Athens have been in store in London for 4 years and more! I hope you will visit us here some time.

Meanwhile we certainly hope to get over to Philadelphia while at Dumbarton Oaks and look forward to seeing you there.

Elektra joins in greeting you

Peter.

P.S. We return to Athens on March 16, but only for a week before we leave for London where we will break our journey to the States.
