Dear Sir,
I have well received your letter from last January in which you kindly allowed me to have access to the plans of the settlement of Episkopi, "Bamboula" (Cyprus) kept at the Curium House (former McFadden's house), and to use one of them in order to illustrate the circuit wall I am dealing with in my dissertation. I would like to let you know that I am very much indebted to you for this permission and I greatly appreciate your help in my research.
I have almost completed the part of my thesis referring to Bamboula, and as soon as I have seen my tutor for the usual corrections, I wish to send you a xeroxed copy of the relevant pages to show you the use I have made of your material. Probably not before the autumn, having to attend the summer term at the University of London and hopefully to go back to Canada to be appointed at Université Laval (Québec) next september.
I regret however the situation on the publication of Bamboula since I was thus obliged to guess some of the explanations concerning the plan (i.e. location of the gate, etc.). I only hope that they will turn out to be right when this material will have been published. After this thorough study of the military architecture of Bamboula, which led me to work on other aspects of the site (that I have been acquainted with for some years, having participated to Phanaromeni excavations in 1975 and in 1976), I envy the scholar who is going to be invited to publish this material and I look forward to reading the results.
With all my sincere thanks for your unvaluable help,
Yours truly,
