February 3, 1977Mr. Demetrios Michaelides British School at Rome Via A. Gramsci, 61 ROMA, Italy 00197

Dear Mr. Michaelides:

I am sorry that I cannot accept your point of view. I think it would be desirable for you to discuss the matter of rights of publication and correct procedure with your teachers and advisors, and, of course, with the Director of the British School, to see what they may say about the correct policy.

In July after I had waited for a long time to hear from you I decided that you were not willing to reply. It occurred to me that you might be more willing to discuss matters with Dr. Karageorghis. So I wrote to him suggesting that he act as arbitrator in the matter. He accepted and seemed quite willing to act in this way. I suggest that you get in touch with him. I am sending him a Xerox of your letter so that he will know your state of mind. I am quite willing to abide by Dr. Karageorghis' advice, presumably after discussion. He seemed to feel that some satisfactory compromise would be possible.

Yours very truly,
