Dear Dr. Edwards:

I received the xeroxed copies of the Kourion notebooks without any problem but have yet to contemplate them. I was disappointed not to see you in NYC at the meetings.

I am applying for a small grant from the Penrose Fund to support two weeks of preliminary research this June on the mosaics and architecture at Kourion. Therefore, I would appreciate it very much if you would act as one of my referees and write a letter of recommendation in support of my proposal (see enclosed form). The deadline for the letter is February 4th. I have included the cost of the photographs and the xeroxing in my proposed budget.

Thank you very much for your assistance in regard to this important matter. I will keep you informed on any developments.

Best wishes,
