30th July, 1959Dear Miss Bruckner,

We have now received, unpacked and checked, the consignment of skeletal material sent for Dr. Angel to study the despatch of which you notified in your letter of 4th March, 1959.

The Sotira and Bamboula material appears to have multiplied: eg. Sotira skull 12 is new, presumably regarded previously, but erroneously, as part of one of the series 1 to 11. In the case of the Kouklia material also there is an additional item which doubtless originated the same way, while XV and XXIV, which are missing, have doubtless been found by Angel to join with other items.

As regards the Bamboula items I can only presume our list was made on the basis of external labels without checking of the contents of individual packets. For there are 6 additional skulls (I, II, a, 3a, IV, IX) and 4 additional skeletal items (1b, 3b, 3c, 3d). I am enclosing a duplicate of this letter for you to pass to Dr. Angel in case he wishes to comment.

The consignment arrived in time for Robert Charles to examine this material during his recent visit.

Yours sincerely,
