Thirdly, Ernst Kitzinger here at D.O. has asked me to supply their study collection with photographs of various mosaics etc in Cyprus, including some of the floor mosaics at Curium excavated by the University Museum expedition. There are 3 lots. 1. the original "palace" floors. These D.O. does not want because Pete Daniel once gave Kitzinger a set. But we would like a set of these for our archive in the Cyprus Museum, including details of inscriptions etc., whatever is available. We have only one or two and to take them now would be a second best in view of the deterioration they have suffered. 2. The floors of the bath adjoining the "palace" with Ktisis etc. 3. The floors of the building by the north gate of Curium with the two figured panels: Achilles and Odysseus at the court of Lycodemus, and Ganymede. Actually there are 4 lots, for we have 4. The basilica floor fragments, birds drinking out of a vase, etc.

Well then, D.O. are interested in 2,3, and 4. They would like upto full-plate size enlargements of large panels and up to half-plate size of details, if the negs. will stand that much enlargement. They will pay for them. And want them for study only. For the Cyprus Museum we would like the same, with lot 1 added. I think we would have asked for these to be supplied long ago under the terms of the permit, had we thought at the time there was going to be so much delay in publication. But now we can hardly invoke our rights of so long ago. Yet if they can come to us as a gift I shall be infinitely relieved, for this year we are poorer than ever!
