Dear Peter:
I am leaving on May 24 for another extended tour of duty in Turkey and Greece: Gordion for the summer, Athens for the fall until some time in January.
The only Cypriote business which I can think of which might come up in my absence would be perhaps the renewal of the permit for the skeletal material which we have on loan here. The Sotira bones Larry Angel is now finished with: these could be returned any time. Those from Bamboula & Kalorizki he needs to work on further, however: Presumably Jack Benson's return to America this fall will bring the necessary impetus for completing their study.
Unless you have special thoughts about the return of the Sotira material I perhaps suggest that their permit be renewed for the whole lot and that they all be returned together when Larry has completed his work with Bamboula-Kalorizki?
Curium publications seem to be progressing gradually. Mitford's manuscripts on the inscriptions has now turned up; Dorothy Hannah Cox's on the coins has been pretty well complete for some time; we expect Dick Stillwell's on the Theatre, etc., in the late summer. I presume it is still difficult for you to work on the Basilica at Curium: we would be interested in hearing your thoughts and views.
With kind regards to you and Electra -
Sincerely
