January 26, 1956Dear Christophis,
I have just heard from Mr. Edwards that you have already done the drawings I requested from Episkopi. Excellent. I am looking forward to their arrival. He also tells me that you are beginning to do the objects at Nicosia. It will help me a great deal if you will make the following substitutions in the list of drawings.
Instead of P 1387 (T.13) draw Mi 556a (head of ivory road in T.36) " P 1395 (T.13) " P 164 (T.21) " P 1344 (T.16) " P 165 (T.21) " P 1349 (T.16) " P 1322 (T.36) " Mi 133 (T.33) " P 2732 (T.24) : you might do a profile and put a drawing of just the shoulder design beside it, something like this: [handwritten: sketch] " P 431 (T.20) " P 1396 (T.13) " P 180 (T.26) " P 389, side view only (T.34) " P 893} (P 195) " P 894} T.34 (P 200) T.26 " P 896} (P 204) " F 50 (T.34) " P 872 (T.34): do in the same way as P 2732
Instead of S 6 (settlement) draw P 960 S 81 " P 746 [handwritten: all at Episkopi] S 82 " P 2833 M 209 (T.26) " Sh 583 (RP bowl)
In addition, I have discovered certain gaps of information in my catalogue cards; and I wonder if you would be kind enough to look at the following objects and supply me with the missing information. Some of the objects are at Episkopi, some in Nicosia.
Always take diameters at widest part of object. Do not consider handles in measuring height of jugs.
Nicosia Bam. T.13 Diam. of P 1401
Episkopi Bam. T.38 Height and diam. of P 2743
Bam. T.16 Present height of P 1364 P 1365
Bam. T.40 Height and diam. of P 2885
Plundered tomb under Tr.20:1 Diam. of P 2717 Height of Sh 624
Length and width of Mi 115 (frag. of ivory disc)
Bam. T.24 Gl 189 - are the white glass bands horizontal or vertical?
Tr.16 Cellar Diam. of P 1424 (this may now be in Nicosia)
