January 5, 1957Dear Jack:

Oscar and I have just completed checking and packing the Bamboula-Kalorizki sherds, pot frr., and graffiti to be returned to Cyprus.

A few items eluded us, as follows:

Sh 109 Sh 286 Sh 606 Sh 761

Bamboula Trench 3: 4 bags of unnumbered sherds Bamboula Trench 2: 2 bags of unnumbered sherds

If you can give us any suggestions about the whereabouts of these we can then clear up this item of business. We are sending on the rest now, anyway; the missing pieces can be sent later.

With regard to the graffiti, the final selections by Peter to replace G 69 and 71, now assigned to us, were G 4 and 61.

Incidentally, I don't know what you are planning to use for a general plan of the Kourion area to show the location of your sites in relation to the others. But if you lack such there is a very suitable one which Joe made to accompany his manuscript which includes everything, even as far north as [handwritten: Sotira] and east beyond Erimi. It lacks designations for Bamboula, Kalorizki, Mersinoudhkia, Hermogenes, but these can easily be added. Possibly you would also like to have Saul's dig at Phaneromeni shown [handwritten: as well].

Yrs.,
