Dear Roger,
Thank you for your letter of 27 November. I think you have handled the graffiti situation well and am glad the tomb groups don't have to be broken up. I have noted the change of the 54-28 series to 54-41. My numbers for T 2017 and T 2018 are 54-28-154 and 54-28-150 respectively, which I think may as well be retained. It appears that the Youngs have published six terracottas from Kalorizicki (their 404-5, 749-751 and 1486) and three from Bamboula (967,968,970). All of these are in Cyprus so that our accession numbering is not affected.
About Miss Bruckner's concordance: this will be made up when Linda gets time to work on it. What with her Greek lessons and shopping in a dozen shops every day for the household (as opposed to the streamlined supermarket method) she seems to have less time to work for me now than she did while holding a job in Philadelphia!
Glad that the BM transfer can be made without difficulty. I think Peter must be behind on the window krater, for Vassos has taken the Bam. frags. to London, incorporated them into the krater and sent me new photographs of it. Of course, it may be that he is still hoping for something from BM in return!
Ellen has sent me Gl 189 but there are still some photographic agenda on my list. The Menander photos are at the moment a minor matter. More important is a print of the bronze griffin protome (45-2-324, formerly L-2-156). I know a negative exists, but somehow a print could not be made in time for me to bring it along. I want to mention this in a review of Griechische Greifenkessel on which I am working now but must see the object and perhaps it is on the way but I would appreciate anything you can do to expedite it, including sending by airmail. I have already mentioned this to Ellen in order to be able to classify it. I could find no record that this was ever published and think this is a good opportunity to make it known. If there is any objection from the curatorial side, please let me know and I will omit.

The most important matter of all is the status of the Bam. and Kal. plates which were left ready for Reuben to reduce photographically. Can you find out if the prints are ready to send and what the possibilities of getting them to me are - perhaps by someone who is coming out here? As it is, I have no illustrations of any kind for the bulk of my catalogued objects - everything is on those plates. Not only can I do very little without them, but also I shall miss the opportunity of showing them to Furumark who is in Athens this year. His suggestions and comments would undoubtedly improve the publication a good deal. If you feel it would help for me to write Kidder directly I can do so, but not unless you don't want this to go through you. I should certainly like to hear Ackerstrom on Berbati; fortunately the publication should appear soon, according to Furumark.
Ellen has mentioned that she's quitting. If you get cheering up and assistance from her to the extent I did while there I'm sure you will have the feeling that a great void will be left. Nevertheless, she's certainly doing the right thing to get her degree behind her.
Season's greetings to all three of you from both of us,
