Dear Sue:

A fine day having arrived, and I having prepared all the solutions, implements etc. for developing, and rigged up a fine background set to catch the best rays of the sun for T 2034. I tenderly lift the 5x7 camera from its case only to discover that its ground-glass is broken to bits! Tragedy is no word! I shall try to get another, and am in fact going to Nicosia today for a day or two, during which I shall canvass the photographic stores, tho I am not too sanguine.

In this situation I have done the next best thing for you, and this may turn out all right, actually. I have made eight kodachromes of the figure from all angles. These have gone off to Rochester air mail and are to be returned to Rodney in Philadelphia. He has instructions to send them all on to you. From them you can select which views you would like to illustrate in your publication. Return same to Rodney who will then have Reuben Goldberg make black and white prints of whatever size you wish. He has made before and and whites from our kodachrome transparencies apparently have the results have been very good. Kodachromes to enlarge them without loss no "grain" so it is possible to enlarge them without loss of definition and with finer gradations of shading than is possible in straight black and white negatives. I am also having Rodney pass on to you kodachromes of the large terracotta shield P 101, inside & out, which Joe said you had asked for previously. If you want prints of the others, stating specifications. them to Rodney with the others, stating specifications.

If I succeed in getting a new ground-glass I will also make 5x7 black-and-white negatives and send them straight to Philadelphia for printing.

Dikaios has hunted high and low for a copy of John's article on the stadium in the Crown Colonist. He says he has exhausted all possibilities of finding one. Do you have one which you could send me, or copy for me?

Also would it be possible for you to give me a straight numerical list of all the terracottas in your inventory? T 1 to 3526 incl., TA 1-48, TB I-19 etc., including all the various subdivisions which you use. I will need this in order to check off those I am supposed to locate
