Re: Estate of George H. McFadden, II, Deceased

Dear Mr. Mainwaring:

For your information I enclose copy of letter addressed to me by Sir Cacoyannis under date of February 16th together with copies of the enclosures referred to therein. You will note that the Government of Cyprus has accepted the bequest of the decedent's house and grounds in the village of Episcopi and will proceed to transfer and register the property in the name of the Government, subject to the terms of the devise.

The will gives to the University Museum any money on deposit in the decedent's name in Cyprus. Sir Cacoyannis states that Mr. McFadden had a current account with the Ottoman Bank at Limassol, in which there was a balance of £684-8 on the date of his death, and asks whether he should consider the fund as money on deposit in Cyprus passing to the University Museum under the provisions of the will.

There is no doubt in my mind that the decedent desired the money in the bank to go to the University Museum and with your approval I will so advise Sir Cacoyannis.

Sincerely yours.
