January 22, 1954Mr. William Richard Gordon Assistant Treasurer University of Pennsylvania 3320 Walnut Street Philadelphia 4

Dear Mr. Gordon:

Enclosed is a suggested form for Power of Attorney to be granted to Dr. George Roger Edwards, the Museum's Representative in Cyprus who is closing down the Museum's Curium Excavations. Also enclosed is a letter from Dr. Edwards requesting the power of attorney as recommended by Sir Panayotis L. Cacoyannis.

Mr. Cacoyannis is the lawyer representing Saul, Ewing, Remick and Saul the Executors of the McFadden Estate. By order of the District Court of Cyprus in September Sir Panayotis L. Cacoyannis was granted "Ancillary Probate and administration with will annexed re property of deceased George McFadden found in Cyprus." (Quoted from a letter from Mr. Cacoyannis to Mr. Ewing on October 5, 1953).

I hope those papers will give you the necessary information in granting the Power of Attorney to Dr. Edwards. If further authority is needed please let me know and I will see what else I can find.

Sincerely yours,
