J. S. LAST EPISKOPI VILLAGE LIMASSOL CYPRUS

10 February 1958Dear Roger:

Thanks for your letter of February 1. As to the architectural supplies, as I have told you in my last letter, I can get everything here; but if you are having a case of stuff sent from America to Turkey in any case, it would save trouble (at the Turkey end) to include heavy items such as these:-

2 rolls good heavy tracing paper 1 roll good light transparent tracing paper India Ink (which cannot be obtained here); also 1 doz bottles 3/4 oz Higgins American recommended by DHC; and all the other items necessary) if you will let me know what you wish me to do.

Curium Drawings: I enclose a copy of the reply I sent to your letter of 2 Jan 57, which I hoped gave all the necessary information. I am not clear as to exactly which plans you want for Mitford's publication but it seems to me that the most suitable would be the two enclosed herewith (in sunprint) i.e.,

APOLLO 1/500 Sunprint; Gridded (You have original) [handwritten: Curium]

CURIUM 1/1000 The Whole Bluff; Gridded; contoured (at present in pencil); old trial trenches; Basilica, Theatre and Baths areas outlined in pencil. We have original at Episkopi and can ink in contours, old trenches, and [handwritten: remaining] block plans of Theatre etc (which would have to be reduced to scale from other plans) all, according to your requirements if you will state them. The enclosed sunprint shows the present state of the tracing-paper original we have here.

APOLLO plan can be worked up to your requirements from the enclosed sunprint - in America, if you prefer, or here, but the enclosed sunprint is THE ONLY COPY if the original and the sunprint sent to Philadelphia have been lost there, so if this one is lost too, we shall be sunk.

COST cannot be estimated at present as I don't know what you want done but if you like we would leave it to you and accept whatever you think the job is worth. This might save time.

The other plans mentioned in the reply to yours of 2 Jan 57 are too large or are otherwise unsuitable for your purpose so far as I can guess it, so I won't add any more on them as it might be confusing. Perhaps you could look in here on your way to or from Turkey, to see what we have - in Kourion [handwritten: Episkopi] Kourion [handwritten: ?] Episkopi plans.
