File: Curium

September 18, 1953Dear Mr. Hill:

Many thanks for your inventories of the effects of Curium, sent on August 12. We have forwarded copies of these to John Ewing, the attorney of the estate here, and have asked Roger Edwards to work with Caccoyannis on a final determination of what should be retained for the use of the expedition. As I believe I wrote you, the estate will make available additional money to buy the things from the estate which we need. This is the particular accounting I would like to get from Roger. The estate is certainly being very pleasant about all this and I hope there. Of course, enough funds to complete the job with you will end up with actual printing of the reports is another matter.

I think Rodney is having a strange and interesting experience in Afghanistan. Certainly a contrast to the Agora and Turkey but he seems relatively cheerful being stolen away from Gordon for a few months and I hope we will know where we are going in that field by the time he gets back here again in December.

I hope to be back in Europe after Christmas and if at all possible will try to visit Cyprus again. After the tour with you I have a strong liking for that place.

Best wishes,

Froelich Rainey Director
