Dear Ted:

The calendar reminds me that Ellen must be back on duty now and that the University will be opening shortly, bringing back Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Crownover, our department's assistant. That is to say, that Cypriote matters need, to be tended to at home as well as here.

A. I should be glad if you will let me know what the budget for this year allows for the shelving we asked for for the Cypriote basement, whether or not the shelving has been acquired, and whether or not influence can be brought to bear on Mr. Wylie & Co. to put it up promptly, so that Ellen and Mr. Crownover can proceed with organizing the material.

B. I was a little concerned to hear how much editorial material seemed to be lying in wait for Ellen. I hope this will not mean that she will be very much restricted as to the time she can give to looking after the activities of Mr. Crownover and to tending to the current departmental affairs which Mrs. Thompson is unable to handle. Both will be very essential until Rodney's return in December at least, and I hope you still feel that she will be reasonably free for these concerns at least until that time. If editorial work is more pressing than you anticipated in the spring, perhaps I can be persuaded to shell out from the Curium Fund enough to have Mary Lou Morton help in the editorial work part-time until December.

I shall be glad to hear your views.

Best to you all -
