Ellen said in her letter that Nuri Bedestan had a most deserved and overdue downfall, and you would write all the details; also, not such good news, that Raci had got promoted and would not be able to be with us in future. I want to hear the details; also about Machteld's holes in the cemetery, if she made any, and what was found in them. And, of course, about the developments of the Phrygian gate. I have contracted to talk about Gordion at the meeting in N.Y. after Xmas, and need to be brought up to date. Of course an hour on the site (which I hope to have late in November) will be worth many pages of description, but there will also no doubt be matters of interpretation. So am looking forward to visit, as well as to hearing about.
