December 7th, 1953Mr. F. J. Mainwaring, Asst. Trust Officer Girard Trust Corn Exchange Bank Broad & Chestnut Sts. Philadelphia 2, Penna.

Re: Estate of George H. McFadden, II, Deceased

Dear Mr. Mainwaring:

I enclose copy of letter addressed to me by Sir Cacoyannis under date of November 26th, 1953 together with a copy of the inventory filed by him in the District Court of Limassol. I have checked the inventory against the inventory prepared by the Consul in Cyprus and the lists prepared by Dr. Hill and the inventory appears to be correct.

It is my understanding that the University Museum would like to purchase the articles comprising items 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 of Sir Cacoyannis' inventory but will be unable to do so unless the Executors give a sufficient sum to the Museum out of the $10,000. left unto such charities as may be designated by the Executors under the SECOND Item of the Will. If Sir Cacoyannis will sell the articles which the Museum desires to it at the prices set forth in the inventory it will cost the Museum roughly $3500. I assume that if Mrs. Ewing and Mrs. Harrison are willing to give the $3500. to the Museum the Girard Trust Corn Exchange Bank would also be willing. Kindly let me hear from you.

Very truly yours,
