Dear Mr. Ewing, Re: Estate of George H. McFadden, Deceased

Thank you for your letter No. 16676A dated 13th November, 1953.

As suggested by the Executors I shall destroy Mr. McFadden's old papers after examining them to make sure that there is nothing useful among them.

I shall send the book on Pointers to Mrs. Harrison at the address given in your letter and will arrange to send only two of the Aladdin Lamps to Mrs. Ewing together with the Books. I enclose in duplicate a list of the books to be sent to Mrs. Ewing with valuation, showing a total value of $34.75. The Aladdin Lamps have been valued at $3 each.

I have now filed the Inventory of Mr. McFadden's property in Cyprus into Court and enclose 3 copies, as requested. This inventory includes the property taken over by Mr. Sprecher American Vice-Consul on his appointment as temporary administrator and subsequently either sold by him in Cyprus, or despatched to U.S.A., or handed over to me by him as stated in my letter of 23rd October, 1953.

With regard to your enquiry about Dr. Hill's list headed "Purchases by Mr. McFadden not of record in Cyprus as donations to Curium Excavations", you will see from the Inventory, that I have treated all the articles listed as belonging to Mr. McFadden with the exception of the Instantaneous Polaroid Camera (1951) model 95, and the Cine Camera "Bell and Howell" Magazine-loading 16 mm. 433906. After consultation with Mr. Edwards we came to the conclusion that these were the only two articles belonging to the Museum.

I have examined all the claims against the estate in Cyprus amounting to about £300, most of which consist of bills from various traders, such as grocery bill, the bill of his dentist amounting to £123.15, and I shall now proceed to settle all the ones which are correct.

I also enclose, for the information of the Executors, the final statement of account prepared by Mr. Sprecher re. property of the deceased dealt with by him.

Yours sincerely,
