December 11, 1952Mr. George McFadden Curium House Episkopi, Limassol Cyprus

Dear George:

At our last Board meeting on Tuesday everyone unanimously approved the proposition of forwarding the equivalent of two hundred pounds to you to complete excavation of the building with the mosaics. We have to set up a special budget for this which will take a few days and then we will simply go ahead and deposit that amount to your account in the Ottoman Bank in Limassol. I hope you have good luck and find another mosaic which we can install in the classical galleries.

Also I have just received your check for $2000.00 which we are transferring to Limassol. Many thanks.

How is the Young report coming along. I understand Ellen has a lot of the manuscript here already, and it should be coming out before she gets away to Gordion. We have a whole stack of things now in press and Ellen is hard pushed to complete most of these before she gets away.

Dikaios has been been here for TV. We had a pleasant evening with him and his family at the house. He is returning next Thursday for dinner at the Madeiras and for a lecture at the Archeological Society.

We all hope to see you here before so very long.

Best wishes,

Froelich G. Rainey Director
