Memo for Deke.

If you leave before that date, it should be closed down two days after you leave. Christo, Mustafa, Savvi and Andreas will become guards and will be cleaning up the sites. Any repairing to the house, white washing cleaning etc, will be done by them at that time until Mr. Hill and I return. This is based on the assumption that you will be leaving to be in Washington on or about the 1st of October. If you should want to stay here longer I suggest you write me and I will take the matter up with Rodney who will be at home then and see what can be arranged. I am giving you power of Attorney valid until September 15th to draw up to £180 a month. I think this will prove to be ample for current expenses. Saul will re-embourse the Curium account for his share of living expenses and for Christo's Christofi's and Mustafa services. You can figure out easily enough how much this come to in any week. The amount should be entered in under the Bamboula column in the account book. I have explained this to Christofi. I will have an account blocked in the Ottoman Bank to cover what the expedition may owe you on travel account.
