Printed: BOX 1967, YALE STATION / NEW HAVEN, CONN.

Mr. De Coursey Fales, Jr. Curium Excavations Episkopi, Limassol Cyprus

Dear Mr. Fales:

Here are the lists of coins. The lamentable record of illegibles on the coins from the Palace in 1949 is due partly to the fact that fourth century coins are always bad and partly apparently to the violent cleaning on the dig, so that large numbers of them are now only little fragments of bronze. It may be, of course, that the conditions of the soil had made that set worse than others. But I did not want you to think that it was just because Miss Cox and I got tired and lost interest.

I have your note announcing the sending of the last load of coins. On Miss Cox's advice, I am returning those that we have to the University Museum.

Yours sincerely,
