July 15, 1949Dear Mr. Myers:

This letter will serve two purposes—first, to thank you for being so helpful yesterday, and second, to put on record our transactions over the check from the American Philosophical Society for $5000. It is hereby noted that the above check, dated June 30th, was brought to your office on July 14th for deposit to the Curium Excavations Fund Account and a check for the same amount of money was directed to the Curium account in the Ottman Bank, Limassol, Cyprus, by your office, under our Requisition #13.

For your records I am herewith enclosing a copy of the letter from the American Philosophical Society notifying us of the grant, and I acknowledge with thanks the copy of your letter to the First National Bank concerning the transfer to the bank in Cyprus.

Thank you again for coming to my rescue yesterday, and I hope you will advise me if any additional memorandum is necessary for your files. If it is not too much trouble I would appreciate having for our files a card from your office echnowledging receipt of this check.

Sincerely yours,
