April 30, 1949Dear Mr. McFadden:

I wonder if you would be kind enough to give us a little assistance. After Dr. Daniel's death, some of his effects were turned over to Mr. Porter in Cyprus. Accordingly Mrs. Daniel wrote the enclosed letter and about two months ago received an inventory from Mr. Porter which she had notarized and returned. Since then we have heard nothing. Mr. Myers, the Assistant Treasurer of the University has just written to Mr. Porter - but Dr. Rainey suggested asking you if you could see Mr. Porter and find out what the delay is.

If you could, we would certainly appreciate it as most of the Express checks are University funds and we'd like to get the affair settled before June 30th - the end of our fiscal year as you know.

Thanks a lot - sorry to bother you with this.

Very sincerely,
