April 27, 1949Dear George:

I think your letter of March 19th crossed with mine saying that Alix Daniel would like to take advantage of your offer in August and I am quite sure she will be out there at that time if this is agreeable to you.

Fales' report and our application for the second $5,000 is going through to the Philosophical Society today. I feel sure that this will serve the purpose and that there is no doubt that we can figure on that $5,000 for next year. Please let me know how things are going at the dig. I have heard very little from any of you out there for some time. It is only that I get a sort of vicarious pleasure out of news from the field and also that I like to remind our Board ever so often of what is going on in Cyprus. By the way I find Mrs. Charles Harrison a very great supporter of yours and incidentally a very likeable woman. We had a terrific argument about religion the other day which was I am sure mutually enjoyed and I find she has all sorts of interesting ideas.

By the way, could you manage to put up any of our Board of Managers if I can convince them to go out to see what you are doing. I think this would be a very healthy thing to do.

Very best wishes,
