31/5/47Dear George,

Here is your passport with Egyptian transit visa. This cost 12 piastres which I am paying.

Thank you so much for looking after Harrison and myself when we arrived with the late evening on Thursday. We enjoyed and admired your house immensely.

I told Dikaios of your kind offer to lend him the Hill's room, which he much appreciates. He says he thinks he can arrange for a village vehicle to take him & the museum men up to Sotira. This should not lead to overspending our budgetary £50 as we will save on the subsistence allowance which we would normally pay Dikaios for his board & lodging expenses.

Yours sincerely Peter Megaw.
