CURIUM EXCAVATIONS EPISKOPI, LIMASSOL CYPRUS
Aug 1946
Dear Mr. Hill,
Very unfortunately I'm not going to be able to come to Greece before going home. I've tried to arrange with TWA who have given me a reservation on one of their planes to New York to let me go from Athens instead of from Cairo. If they could have given me a reservation later in the month,(I am flying from Cairo on the 17th) I might have been able to make Athens and pick up one of the thier planes from there, but they are unable to give me any other reservation than the one offered. We shall call at Athens, but I fear only for refueling. However, I fully intend to return in October via Athens where I will want to stay for a while to look over the Hellenistic pottery from the Agora. I think I should do this before publishing anything on the St. Hermogenes Cemetery, although I might give the Museum a brief article for their Bulleton.
I am leaving Joe Last as Treasurer and generally responsable for all things not strictly Archeological, save for the kitchen, which is Sue's domain. This will relieve John from alot of practical work unconnected with his own program, and I think on the whole should be a good division of labor. Joe is the soul of tact and has tremendous consideration always for others. I hope you will approve of this arrangement.
