CURIUM EXCAVATIONS EPISKOPI, LIMASSOL CYPRUS
27 July, 1946President, University Museum, Philadelphia.
Dear Mr. Madeira,
Thank you very much for your letter of July 18th which has just reached me. It obviously crossed mine to Mrs. Godfrey of July 16th with the missing check which I hope has reached you by now. As you will note, it was necessary for me to revise my instruction in this letter a little, and I trust they will meet with your approval.
Mrs. Godfrey wrote me that Mr. Daniel, though back from overseas, wasn't returning to the Museum until the Fall, so I hadn't realized at the time of my letter that you could benefit from [handwritten: his] knowledge of Cypriot Archeology in connection with a neolithic site. However, his letter of July 7th reached me last week in which he writes as follows:
"Mrs. Godfrey tells me that Dikaios wants to dig two neolithic sites near Kourion for us. Which sites is he interested in? To tell us more about it as the matter will have to be presented to the board for approval, and we need more data in order to make an intelligent presentation of the matter."
