5 March 1946My dear George,

I hear with great pleasure that you have come back home and I hope that your health has been very good (no doubt it has been, as I have been told that it is excellent news). I am glad to receive your letter and I got home to Cyprus from England (& Ireland) last summer (?) but particularly, as I had been away a good while and came back to a great many things on our return. Various matters are now back to normal. But there is no means yet to spend, a little money, untainted staff and even some of your offers have been taken from us!
