CURIUM EXCAVATIONS EPISKOPI, LIMASSOL CYPRUS

25 November, 1946Director, University Museum, 33rd and Spruce Streets, Philadelphia.

Dear Mrs. Godfrey,

With reference to my letter of November 21st, I find that you were quite right in believing that The University Museum had already met their full commitments of $3,000.00. In your statement enclosed with your letter to me of [handwritten: November 6th], you have the sum of $1,000.00 as having been sent by the Museum to us on October 8th. [handwritten: This amount I find, going over our accounts,] the balance having been retained should have read $894.00, the balance having been retained by the Museum to take care of material purchased for us at home. This leaves a total of $1,106.00 deposited to the credit of Curium Excavations with the Museum. I am enclosing a cheque for the amount of $500.00 and if you can afford to draw an equal amount on our account with you at home, I'd appreciate it very much if you would deposit the amount of $1,000.00 to the credit of the Youngs at their bank. I think the original instructions were that half should go to Suzanne H. Young, and half to John H. Young, both their accounts being at [handwritten: Springfield] Safe Deposit and Trust Company, 127 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts. I will send you an additional cheque of $1,000.00 after the first of January to make up the amount of $2,000.00 which they have requested be credited to their accounts at home.
