GEO. H. McFADDEN & BRO. 1606-1611 PACKARD BUILDING Cable Address Mcfadden

P.O. Box #43 [handwritten: Philadelphia] Ashland, N.J., May 2, 1941.

Miss Alice Goudy, Assistant to the Director, University of Pennsylvania Museum, 33rd and Spruce Streets, Philadelphia, Pa.

Dear Madam:

I have a cable from Mr. George H. McFadden dated at Limassol, Cyprus, requesting that $500. be cabled ao the American Express Company, Athens. I have our New York office working on this in an endeavor to secure from the Federal Reserve Bank a permit as Greek Funds I understand are frozen. It appears to me rather doubtful if we will be able to get the funds to him through this source. Anyway this trouble does not concern the Museum unless you should happen to have something constructive to offer.

He requests that copies of his last article in the Museum Bulletin be sent direct to him, also to his family.

Regarding his address there, the last advice I had was months ago and his letter was headed POB 32, Limassol, Cyprus. I have since had a letter from him headed Episkopi, Limassol, Cyprus and Episkopi or Limassol. Possibly someone at the Museum does know. I do not know the difference between Episkopi, Limassol, Cyprus and Episkopi or Limassol. I find that airmail costs 40¢ a half ounce and takes about five weeks or did. I do not know the size or weight of the Bulletin but it might be well to send him the Bulletin complete, say two or three copies, by regular mail and also two or three of the clipped articles by airmail. Everything of course has to pass the censors and the clippings would get through quicker.

Regarding the copies for the family, will you please send one Bulletin (marked copy) each to

Mrs. Bernon S. Prentice, #609 Park Avenue, New York, N.Y. Mr. Alexander B. McFadden Care Geo.H.McFadden & Bro., National Garage Bldg., #66 West Court Avenue, Memphis, Tenn. Mrs. John K. Ewing, Ill, Conestoga Road, Bryn Mawr, Pa. Mr. John Randolph Harrison, Jr., 306 South 19th Street, Philadelphia. Mr. Edward Browning, Route 5, Box 310, Memphis, Tenn.

I will reimburse you. Or if you will send the copies to me I could send them.

Thanking you,

Yours very truly,
