Dear Mr Daniel, Your letter of April 2nd arrived today. About the publication of the Mycenaean sherds from El Amarna, there is no objection now at all to your making what use you please of your photographs. When the Egypt Exploration Society publication will appear is very doubtful - not till after the war of course - and even then someone will have to be found to replace Pendlebury, who was missing in Crete, and almost certainly killed.
It was, I think, most considerate of you, to make sure you were not treading of any toes. Some finders are very susceptible - and we do our best to guard their interests. Personally I feel that use should be made of every thing as soon as possible.
Yours very truly, Guy Brunton.
