11.) Stones appear in Plans A and B. 12-13.) These holes and sinking seem to be fairly accurate on Plans A and B. The position of the two holes has been checked. 14.) The part of the wall that sticks out to the right is a fallen stone, does not (I think) show its course. There aren't any more stones in this wall than appear in Plans A and B. 15.) For these stones, see Plans A and B. One of them is now broken and the pieces out of place. 16.) A newly measured orientation angle produced the arrow on Plan D. 17.) Edge of rock has been put on Plan D. 18 to 19.) Edges of rock appear on Plans A and B and have been put also on D. 20.) Edge of rock has been put on D. Its upcurl to the right perhaps makes one side of the line of wall wanted there. Toward the left it is lost under dirt which seems to have been left purposely. 21.) Stones appear on Plans A and B. 22.) This seems to be part of the line of cave underneath.

I am sure all this will not be at all satisfactory, but at least it is better than as if there were no one here to even try to answer your questions. Your public will understand that you cannot produce a peacetime result. I sympathize with and applaud your determination to get things as much as possible in order now. Rolled up with the plans you will find also a sunprint of a piece of gold work found this year, a diadem with a palmette and vine pattern repousse, quite unusual: Tomb 9, #20. The drawing is actual size. The pottery in the tomb was 4th to 2nd cent. BC. More about this and other groups will follow, as we get prints, lists, and resumes finished. The uncertain state of mails makes it rather better not to try to get everything into the same letter. We are gathering information about transportation. It may not be terribly long before we see you. Meanwhile our best to you and Alix. You have very war m greetings from Savvy and Christo.

Yours, Virginia
