April 19, 1940Dear George:-

Thank you very much for your letter of April 2nd with its enclosed cheque for $300. With the balance remaining from your earlier contribution this fixes Daniel up for the coming year most satisfactorily. I am well pleased that we have him tied in to the Museum organization and believe we have the makings of an excellent curatorial assistant.

The balance of your earlier contribution went towards defraying the extra costs of publishing Miss Grace's article in the A.J.A. I was pleased that they could arrange to bring it out, and I felt that you would approve this disposition of the funds: it could not have appeared without this subsidy from us.

I look forward to receiving your report of last year's work which ought to be along now in an early mail. I feel sure it will be welcome for the next Bulletin.

I hope your new excavations progress satisfactorily and we all trust that present conditions will not prove embarrassing for the future of your work.

With kindest regards.

Yours always sincerely
