Having seen Pete yesterday & received a letter & telegram from John I write this hurried note to ask you to send the sum called for in my letter of August 1 - which I hope you have received - just as soon as you can. There are obligations which I did not know when I wrote you which John can't meet until the Bank balance has been strengthened. I had to reduce this to about £19 to get cash for Pete, and there are £16-10- due Youko (for which he is clamoring) besides current expenses, £8 or £10 a week.
