and feel that everything else should be sacrificed to it. I even fear that I will have to give up Mycenae. I need another month here, and must go to Egypt when I finish. As I hope to be in California before the end of August, I don't see where Mycenae can be fitted in.

It always seems to turn hot the day Mr. Hill leaves, and this year is no exception. After a long spell of comfortable weather it is now sizzling, and summer is really here.

Please remember me to Katharine and Denys and David, and to the luncheon "group", also to Brown and Speiser when you see them, also to the Hollands and Kents. I look forward to seeing you again this winter and resuming our discussions of geometric, Orientalizing, and other tantalizing problems. I shall also do some crowing over photographs of my new finds.
