I have written to Megaw about a number of things, and should have an answer tomorrow. Among them is the question of the Erimi tomb, which I should like to dig sometime this week if it can be arranged without delay.

Christo says that Hassan has been very docile this winter. Apparently Kakoyanni's hints had some effect. I can't discover any news of interest about any of our kamaka landlords. The Chryso-stomides estate has not yet been divided, though Christo says he hears that Evagoras got all our rent this last time. [handwritten: Okshush (?)] is apparently still more or less solvent and in possession of his land.

I can't think of anything more to tell you now, though I have no doubt that more will come to my mind later, in which case I will write again. I am particularly anxious to hear your verdict on the question of my stipend. It is not a very big matter, but it seems big enough to me. Jayne looks pretty thoroughly committed, I should say, though he may find some loop-hole to crawl out of.

Doesn't the international situation look lovely!

Handwritten: Sincerely, Pete
