… should come first, and even so I am afraid that it would be some time before I could get at it. But I am going to be given someone to clean the Lapithos pottery in the museum (much of it has never been cleaned), and I may be able to publish some of the smaller tombs without much trouble. The most satisfactory thing so far is that I met Mrs. Leicester Holland at a recent meeting of the local archaeological society, where Shear spoke, and she asked all about you. Shef wants me to come over to dinner some time when Mr. Holland will be here.
Mrs. Dohan is having me to lunch next Tuesday with Miss Segal and Dorothy Hill, who are both with the Walters Art Gallery. -I forgot to say, connected with reviewing, that I am also promissed Rodney Young's magnus opus on the Agora geometric. I saw the proof for it (though Shear doesn't know this), and thought it a splendid piece of work. If, in addition to all my other preoccupations, I can find time, I would like to read a paper on -Cypriote evidence for Greek Orientalizing and late geometric chronology at the Institute meetings.
A letter from Megaw the other day, asking for a Bamboula report which I sent, said that you were expected in Cyprus in about a week. It also said that someone had been found for the mosaics. I have never heard from McEwan. I hope that you find Cyprus well and that you have a good season. How I wish I were with you!
My best to George, Lands, Christo, Savvi, and of course to yourself.
