January 14, 1938Dear Mr. Hill,

Lucy writes me that there was again a pleasant Christmas party at your house in Athens, and I have read in the paper that it snowed on my birthday, to celebrate which you seem to have had a royal wedding. I enjoyed the meetings in Philadelphia and found the papers on Troy a very interesting group.

I'm writing specially at this moment to ask you if there are not possibly in some place known to you more Lapithos records relevant to my studies, particularly concerning Tomb 6. I mentioned to you that the plan I have is incomplete (A) with respect to the piece that should connect the cave with the dromos; I see now that there is a more serious lack - the whole east burial shelf or niche of the same chamber, A, where were found items 124-129 as stated in the inventory book. The east margin of the chamber proper is of course inked in, so that the omission is not immediately evident. Both the shelf and the entrance passage had to be left out because there wasn't space on the paper. It seems to me that there must be a supplementary sheet, but I have looked very carefully through all the material I have and failed to find it.

Neither do I find anything which records the exact position in the landscape of Tombs 4 and 5, whether surveyor's diagram with figures such as exists for tombs 1-4 and 7, or finished drawing like those placing the rest of the prehistoric tombs and the Geometric. I have got a photograph of Miss Cox with a tape measure leading off from Tomb 5.

I should like very much to hear from you soon about this, because as we decided would be a good idea I am trying to get out a publication of that particular group quickly. I don't know if you have noticed the steal at the end
