Dear Mr.Hill,

I am sorry to say that owing to your absence, the order for expropriation of the land at Curium has been cancelled. But there would apparently have been difficulties in any case as plot No.4 is mortgaged for about £ 300 and, according to the Crown Counsel, "one may assume that the Evkaf is allowing a margin of at least 10% to 20% on the actual value". About two thirds of this plot comes into your area.

From this point of view it is fortunate that you will not be working on this area until autumn, by which time I hope some arrangements will be reached.

I am giving up this job at the end of this month, but I hope we shall see you before we leave sometime in April.

Yours sincerely,
