9 Plutarch Street, Athens, 6 August 1934.
Dear Pete:
I received your letter of July 26/27 on August 2, the same day that I wrote you a letter of the 4th Aug. I have been very much worried about you, and I have been away from home for some days; but I hope that the note of the 4th will reach you before you leave for the Kourion. I was afraid that the letter I wrote on 25 July might have gone astray, and I wanted to be sure you knew of the arrangement. I have been thinking a good deal about it, and I believe the best thing would be to wait for your answer before taking any steps. There is no sense in hurrying the matter until you have had a chance to see the site yourself.
If you are not able to come up before the end of the month, we shall have to send out the expedition party without you, and I should be sorry for that. Those you have sent here on Thursday have been most interesting.
Sincerely,
