Stone sea wall at Famagusta with waves breaking against its base
Photograph: 1930–39. The National Archives, CO 1069/701. No known copyright restrictions. Resized.

Description

A high stone wall with a flat top runs diagonally from the lower left into the distance. Its dark face drops to a narrow strip of pale sand or shingle, and rough sea surges and foams along its right side. No people are visible, and the wall's far end fades into haze.

English
