Description

The cathedral stands on the right of centre, a large, ruined-looking stone church with pointed windows and a tall tower. In the foreground, low dry-stone walls divide a flat, grassy field crossed by a dirt track. Palm trees and scrubby bushes dot the middle ground, and a few low buildings sit among them under an empty sky.

English

A view across walled fields and palm trees toward the Cathedral of St Sophia at Famagusta, its tall facade and buttressed walls rising against a pale sky.

TIMEA's description

Huge cathedral standing alone in grandeur, with palm trees about. spine.
