Took off from Rome at 21h 15 in the storm... very bumpy journey over the Apennines, arrived over the lagoon after 23h, in icy temperatures. Installed at the hotel, at the entrance to Venice, at midnight.
Thursday 20 December 1962Hard day of procedures and discussions in Venice 1°/ with the Co Typaldos to get the car out of the hold of the Typaldos liner, berthed since the previous day ("Akropolis"). 2°/ with the customs at the landing quay, 3°/ with the customs at the Santa Lucia Station, 4°/ at the General Directorate of Customs, at the Punta della Salute, at the office of the Inspector General - Result: another night at the hotel in Venice, and unforeseen additional expenses. It is freezing over Venice, however.
