NE enclosure wall, called chant. NE enclosure wall. – Very little of pottery. Nothing old in the surface layer. We are extending the trenches begun by the pairs central region, "Temple area" and. "Area North". along the N–S street. –

9th/11th day. Tuesday, 24 Nov. Fine. Less cold, no wind. 8 new workmen from Prastio and other villages of these parts come to be hired, bringing to 32 the number of "singles" against c. 24 in pairs (12). The SE–NW trench or chapel trench is on the greatest length sterile. We extend up to contact with the N enclosure wall, at the SE corner of the large tower or projecting enclosure, east of the N door. The sounding in the alignment of the blocks behind NE enclosure wall, little archaeological earth. The blocks rest on the "CONOS conos", hard sterile earth, = alluvial geological deposit lodged in the hollows of the underlying rock table, and the blocks seem detached from the face and rolled down the very steep slope here.
