Sent Kuss, on 4 Nov. from Ras Shamra to Beyr. and Nic. for getting the work under way after having obtained in writing from Megaw the services of Mihael Vaïos, our area foreman, to open and clean the house, transport equipment etc. from 1st Nov.

Kuss hires workmen on 11 Nov. and begins the excavations in N-S trench east of area House 18 and "temple area" up to the contact with our former North trench, following the line laid out on the plan at RS.
