Drawing: building with three domes and a square tower in scaffolding

A birth on the eastern horizon. the three monks of St. Barnabas are raising a belfry to house the bell acquired last year. Two young girls clean and prepare the house while in Famagusta I find at last a car in intact condition under a slightly faded cover. Its owner undertakes to keep it in good condition for the duration of the contract. presented at the bank the 1st cheque of 50 £ for payment of car hire. completed the usual police formality. On my return, I am received by Messrs Megaw and Dikigoropoulos, who on their way to Salamis are come to enquire after news. (1) The price paid for the car seems correct to them. After departure of the two active housewives, I send Mr Schaeffer a report brief on the Cypriot contact. Temperature fairly high 36°, marked by a violent east wind.

(1) 60 £ for 1 month 1/2 - 5 Sept - 20 Oct.
